Sumday started as an internal project at an agency I was working at. They picked a handful of people, all from different disciplines, and allowed us to run with the idea: “What if we could create an investing platform that everyone would want to use?”

Sumday is a simple and inventive way to invest in tomorrow’s dreams with what you have today, no matter how big or small. The product strives to change the way people save in America. We cut through the complicated financial language to provide a clear path to investing for the future.

As the lead writer on the project, I worked on the branding, tone & voice, and all the marketing and communications content. It all started with the name: the sum of all the little things you do every day to reach your “Someday I’…” dream.

The name helped set the tone & voice for the rest of the copy, even the error messages, and 404 page.


Our team worked in an agile process, side-by-side with the clients in 2-week sprints. Along with the campaign copy, product copy, content and strategy for communications, I also helped develop a video to further explain the mechanics and emotional benefits of Sumday. The short feature follows the dream of a young girl with a sweet tooth. We also created a version to explain Hashtag Transfers.
